HATSUMODE (初詣)

In Japan, the first event of the New Year is hatsumode. 
Hatsumode is the first visit of the year to a shrine or temple.
It is very give important tradition, and we give the first prayer of the new year, and thank for everything.

OSECHI (おせち料理)

Osechi ryori is the traditional New Year’s foods in Japan. It is very delicious, colorful, and well decorated. It is a special cuisine eaten to give thanks and wish for happiness and prosperity in the coming year. Eating Osechi ryori during New Year is a symbol of good health and happiness for the new year.

OZONI (お雑煮)

Ozoni is one of the New Year's dishes. It is a traditional Japanese soup with rice cakes.
At the time we have Ozoni, we pray for an abundant harvest and for the health and happiness.
Ozoni differs from region to region. There are a lot of varieties and differences in rice cakes, taste, seasoning, and ingredients.
